By using CROTool.com ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

You are responsible for the content and changes you create and deploy through the Service. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service.

You retain ownership of all test configurations, variants, and data you create. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

We collect and process the following data to provide the Service:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile image from Google OAuth sign-in.
• Test data — test configurations, variant changes, URLs, and results you create within the Service.
• Google Tag Manager access — when you connect your GTM account, we access container and workspace data to deploy tests on your behalf.
• Google Analytics 4 data — when you connect a GA4 property, we read reporting data (active users, event counts) to display A/B test results within the Service.
• OAuth tokens — your Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored securely in our database to maintain your connection. Tokens are automatically refreshed when they expire. You can revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions.

Google OAuth Scopes

When you sign in, CROTool.com requests the following Google permissions:

• openid, email, profile — to authenticate your identity and display your name and avatar.
• tagmanager.edit.containers — to read your GTM containers and create workspaces, tags, triggers, and variables needed to deploy A/B tests. You publish the container version yourself via GTM's Preview mode.
• tagmanager.delete.containers — to clean up old GTM workspaces when re-deploying a test, preventing duplicate workspace accumulation.
• analytics.readonly — to read your Google Analytics 4 reporting data so the Service can fetch A/B test impression and variant metrics directly from GA4.

How We Use Your Data

Your Google account data is used solely to authenticate you, deploy A/B tests to your GTM containers, and fetch test results from your GA4 properties. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Service.

Data Retention

Your account data and test configurations are retained for as long as your account is active. Google OAuth tokens are stored securely in our database and used only to maintain your GTM connection. If you delete your account or revoke access, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing contact@crotool.com. You can also revoke CROTool.com's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal data to third parties. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to you and team members you explicitly invite. We do not transfer data to any third-party services beyond what is necessary to operate the Service (database hosting, authentication).

Google API Services User Data Policy

CROTool.com's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Chrome Extension

The Chrome extension ("CROTool.com — Preview") does not collect or transmit any browsing data. It only activates when you explicitly request a preview from the web app.

CROTool.com is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are trademarks of Google LLC.

The A/B test scripts generated and deployed through this Service modify the visual appearance of web pages for testing purposes. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your tests comply with applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of service of the websites you test on.

Test results and statistical calculations provided by the Service are for informational purposes only and should not be the sole basis for business decisions.
